We all have seen those ugly stains on our roofs. They can make roof look very bad and even make a brand new roof look very old. The stains I'm talking about are the black dirt that falls from the trees and the moss that grows on some roofs. Also, the stains come from dirty clogged-up gutters overflowing. Always keep your gutters cleaned.
When living in an area where there is a lot of trees your roof is more likely to have this kind of problem. Most people don't know that these stains can be removed very fast and easy. You don't have to pay a contractor a lot of money to clean your roof. You can do it yourself but if you have a very tall or steep roof your best bet it to go ahead and pay a professional. Always remember safety first.
This is how you clean your roof. Go to one of the home improvement stores and buy some outdoor bleach and a garden sprayer if you have light stains. Mix the beach with water according to the instructions on the bottle but if the stains are very heavy just pour the entire bottle of bleach into the sprayer sprayer.
Now it is time to clean the roof. When working with a ladder always tie the ladder to the gutters using a good rope. You don't want the wind to blow your ladder down while you are on the roof. Spray the bleach on the roof in a even pattern. Make sure you cover the stains really good. Let the bleach set for about fifteen minutes then take your water hose and wash off the bleach once the roof is clean. Wash the driveway and any other area that the bleach may have ran onto. Now you have a brand new looking roof even if your roof is 10 years old.
